Oono Associates PCB Waste Treatment

Japan’s largest storage facility

We have developed a seamless system for treating low-concentration PCB waste from initial analysis to final disposal. We offer speedy and reliable analysis and treatment, making life easier for storage facility operators, keeping environmental burdens to the minimum, and providing a service (as waste treatment specialists) to the whole community.

Third authorization from the Minister for the Environment

On March 30, 2018, we received our third authorization for low-concentration PCB waste treatment from the Minister for the Environment
Ministry of the Environment authorization no. 2018-9

We have constructed Japan’s largest storage facility for PCB waste treatment, enabling us to accept orders without delay. At this facility equipped with overhead cranes and dedicated fork lift trucks, we can accommodate waste transport vehicles safely and reliably. Also, in case leaks or other accidents occur, the entire floor area has an impermeable epoxy coating, and for absolutely secure storage the facility is surrounded by a drainage gutter.

Dedicated PCB storage tanks, total capacity 300 kL (2 × 150 kL)

Facility storage capacity

Pretreatment building 1,000 ㎡
Large appliances processing building 1,200 ㎡

Japan’s Largest Treatment Facility

日本最大規模の処理施設

It is possible to dispose of almost all low-concentration PCB waste such as case body of electrical equipment such as transformers and capacitors, wood waste / paper waste, pollutants in drums such as sludge, and OF cables.

Incineration equipment 2 counterflow rotary kilns
1 tunnel kiln
3 batch incinerators
Items Suitable for Processing Insulating oils and other contaminated waste oils
Transformers
Capacitors
Bushings
Oil-filled cables
Drums containing contaminated items
Empty drums

A Safe and Secure Facility

For the safety of this treatment facility, the entire premises have been fully earthquake-proofed as a precaution against a possible major earthquake in the Nankai area.
In addition, the drainage room, where low-concentration PCB waste is handled, is negatively pressurized and equipped with dual high-speed shutters for complete protection against accidental dispersal. Also, company staff training includes regular disaster emergency drills.
